Legal information

Privacy notice

Updated 29 September 2026. This notice describes the public Joyful Classics beta.

1. Controller and contact

The controller is Ostheimer OG, Fabriksgasse 20, 2230 Gänserndorf, Austria. For privacy enquiries, contact office@ostheimer.at or +43 699 1726 3544.

2. Website requests and hosting

We host this website with Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. A page request provides the host with necessary connection and request data, including your IP address, requested URL, time and information sent by your browser. Vercel processes technical data to deliver, troubleshoot and secure the service.

Our legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests are reliable, secure delivery of this website and prevention of abuse. The website cannot be delivered without the data needed for the connection. We do not maintain a database of visitor or player profiles.

Vercel may process data in the United States and other countries. Vercel publishes international transfer information and a Data Processing Addendum containing standard contractual clauses. The provider information linked below explains these arrangements and subprocessors.

We do not specify a single fixed retention period for technical hosting data. Vercel describes retention in terms of necessary operational, security and legal purposes. Different log types and account settings may have different retention periods. We do not keep additional copies of visitor logs.

3. Sudoku progress in your browser

To let you resume a game, Sudoku saves its puzzle identifier and variant, your entries, notes, undo history and selected square in this browser's LocalStorage. It also stores references to the active and last free puzzle. The keys start with joyful-classics:sudoku. The application does not send these game records to us or Vercel or link them to an account.

Storage is used solely for playing and resuming the game, not advertising or audience measurement. It is limited to this device, browser and website address. There is no built-in expiry date; your browser may also remove data. If storage is blocked, the game still works and displays a message.

To delete progress, open your browser's site-data settings, select the current Joyful Classics address and delete its stored data. This removes the progress and notes stored here. Close open game tabs first so they cannot save progress again. Data on another preview address or domain must be removed separately there.

4. Operation without a consent banner

The Joyful Classics application code does not set cookies or load advertising, analytics, external fonts, embedded media or a consent platform. The application therefore has no cookie banner and does not require consent to optional services. External links connect to the linked website only when you open them.

5. Contact by email

If you email us, we process your email address, message and supplied information to respond. General enquiries rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (our interest in answering enquiries); contract-related enquiries rely on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Necessary communication providers process the message during transmission.

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle it, or where legal obligations or establishing, exercising or defending claims require further retention. Please provide only information needed for your enquiry.

6. Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. Contact office@ostheimer.at to exercise your rights. We do not use your data for profiling or automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.

You may complain to a data protection authority, in particular the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria; email: dsb@dsb.gv.at. Its website explains your rights and how to submit a complaint.
